Espen Sivertsen 

Chief Executive Officer

Espen brings a decade of startup and innovation experience to the team. Most recently, Espen co-founded and led 3D printer manufacturer Type A Machines from initial production to seven digit (USD) revenues.

With a background in business and psychology, Espen previously served as Team Leader with the KaosPilots, a Scandinavian school of entrepreneurship described by Fast Company as the “new curriculum for managing change" . Prior to this, his work was oriented around trend spotting as Head of Demolab at iLab, an international knowledge center for new technologies and trends.


Stefani Pellinen-Chavez

Chief Operating Officer

Stefani's expertise lies in identifying new opportunities and systems to generate higher efficiency and better customer experiences, and in refining existing systems to generate improved outcomes.

Formerly CFO, in-house counsel and COO for Type A Machines, a provider of additive manufacturing equipment and services. Stefani has developed and managed systems, practices, and staff in areas ranging from manufacturing and inventory management, product fulfillment, accounts payable and receivable, to web store implementation and integration with supporting products and customer support.


Anabella Cabrera 

Administrative Assistant 

Anabella has 10 years of experience in administration, graphic design and customer service.  She has held an extensive amount of titles such as Senior Technical Support Specialist, Graphic Designer, Real Time Analyst Senior Specialist, Senior Administrative Assistant and Workforce Analyst Specialist.

With a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the Universidad Dr. Jose Matias Delgado in El Salvador, she has concentrated in different areas of the business field.  She has worked in various industries such as computer services, rail transit, graphic design, call center and home furnishings.


Anna D'Alessio

Mechanical Engineer 

Anna has an extensive amount of years studying mechanical engineering. She received her bachelors in mechanical engineering from the University of Delaware and her master’s of science from the University of California Berkeley.

She has held various research positions such as: Graduate Student Researcher for the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Graduate Student Researcher for the Lab for Manufacturing and Sustainability, and Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship for the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Through her work experience, she has collected data on energy use in municipal water, measured current energy use of mobile vans, and simulated manufacturing facility productivity using energy supply from renewable energy.


Frederick Macklin

Product Design Researcher

Frederick has a combination of 8 years of biotechnology experience with a traditional fine art background.  The creative and analytical challenge that both science and art pose have been his catalyst for curiosity.

He has worked as a chemical analyst and clinical laboratory technician where he performed analytical method validations, transfers, and verifications. He also analyzed human specimens for specific analytes using Singulex or other immunoassays.  Apart from his biotechnology experience, he held an internship as a CAD Designer for Type A Machines where he created 3D models for marketing, research and development, and various clients.


Gregory Vernitsky

Mechanical Engineer 

Gregory comes with the perfect combination of an educational background with over two decades of experience in mechanical engineering.  With a Master of Science degree in Marine Engineering from the National Marine University in Ukraine, he has worked for prominent companies such as Bio-Rad Laboratories, Rose Electronics Company, Cooper/Shaper Lighting and Simco-Ion.

Gregory has worked in a wide array of projects such as designing electronic, medical and industrial equipment. He has lead a team of engineers and designers in developing exciting new products from start to finish.  


Joanna Carbajal 

Scrum Master & Marketing Assistant 

Joanna comes with marketing experience from the following industries: consumer packaged goods, financial planning, power generation and heavy construction equipment.  She has generated marketing collateral for design-build-operate solutions, electric power generation, hydraulically driven work tools, and 5.4MW turbines.  

She has also managed data analytics, international events, websites, case studies, marketing campaigns, brand compliance, social media and even charitable initiatives. In terms of her education, she has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Notre Dame de Namur University. She is also a member of Delta Mu Delta, which is the international honor society for business programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.


Aramis Herrera 

General Manager (MX)

With a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design and a PGD in Operations Management, Aramis has over a decade of experience in design for manufacturing and education.

Aramis has led his own design studio for the past 8 years, developing new products for a wide variety of industries. For the past 4 years he has worked as a professor for Universidad Panamericana in Guadalajara, Mexico where he teaches design and innovation. His experience as well as education makes him an outstanding professor.


Carlos Melendez

Industrial Designer (MX)

Carlos has a blend of an educational and professional background in industrial design where he has been able to converge creative and logical thinking to be able to provide solutions.

He was co-owner for Gama3, a business dedicated for exhibition stands.  He was in charge of the design of stands and exhibitors for clients, the coordination of the production and their assembly, and also the presentation of products to customers.  Apart from being a designer, he was also an ambassador for Apple at his university. He was in charge of implementing the use of technology inside and outside the classroom to improve education.


Carolina Hernandez

Industrial Designer (MX)

Carolina sees design as a problem solving methodology for our society.  Such fascination has led her to participate in different contests like "Infiniti Furniture Design 2014 Edition" and workshops like “Continental Innovation Workshop” and “Design Thinking”.

She comes with an industrial design degree from Universidad de Guadalajara.She implemented her education working as an industrial designer for Ortopedia Urbana where she specialized in social design, Boga Muebles and Nettbee Group SA de CV where she specialized in furniture industry.  She has designed and developed home accessories for her own brand.


Jorge Ponce 

Industrial Designer (MX)

Jorge comes with a degree in Industrial and Product Design from Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. While at the university, he participated in various contests and won second place and “Best of the Show” Open Room in 2014.

He has worked as a designer for Corporación Manufacturera where he made dies and molds for motor gaskets.  He also has worked as a product developer for Enercotec, which is an enterprise that produces electrolysis reactors for alternative fuel.  He aided his team in developing the 4th generation of electrolysis reactors, designing the components and the production plan for the plant.


Luis Villarreal 

Industrial Designer (MX) 

With a Master’s of Business Administration, Luis has an educational blend of business and industrial design.  Such blend has allowed him to practice his entrepreneurship and design skills in business and real scenarios.  

In 2015, he started his own furniture company where he had to use his business and design education to create a business plan and design products to see his ideas come into fruition.  Apart from the furniture industry, he also has experience with CNC laser, CNC router and 3D printing. He has designed and developed products, gadgets and home accessories.


Maria Fernanda Marquez 

Industrial Designer (MX)

Maria Fernanda comes with an educational background in industrial design from the Universidad Anahuac Mayab in Merida, Yucatan.  She was triumphant in her education as she made into the finalists for the Design Week in her university.  She also created designs that made it into a couple publications for different schools and institutions.

Apart from her education, she has professional experience working for Zebra Digital Marketing and DEK Desarrollo Empresarial Creativo. She has created designs for social media content, 3D modeling, conventions, shopping centers and jewelry.

Alaina Piland

Business and Legal Operations

Alaina Piland received her B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from U.C. Berkeley. She has a JD from the University of San Francisco School of Law and an MBA from the University of San Francisco School of Management.

She has worked on the in-house legal team at an multinational loan acquisition, servicing, and real estate development firm doing compliance, licensing, and tax law. She worked at an international law firm where she focused on international commercial law, energy law, labor and employment law, international finance, cross-border corporate governance and M&A. She was also a research analyst for a nonprofit organization where she did scholarly research  on international criminal law and human rights violations. Recently, she worked as a strategist for a startup developing internal controls, financial analysis, and advising on investment and management decisions.
